About Me
About Me
Before embarking on a career in psychotherapy and counselling I worked in PR and Event Management. A sudden redundancy provided me with the opportunity to retrain as a psychotherapist and counsellor. The settings I have worked in during my training and post qualification have enabled me to gain extensive experience of working with a wide range of people and the difficulties they have encountered.
My training in Integrative Psychotherapy encapsulated different modalities like psychodynamic, attachment, humanistic, and existential- phenomenological concepts, which provided me with a robust understanding of the different perspectives. In practice, my orientation is predominantly a relational- integrative approach. I believe the relationship between client and therapist can be considered a microcosm of the client’s world and can often be key to gaining insight into how they relate to others, their world and themselves. My aim is to support my clients in gaining greater understanding of themselves and finding more fulfilling ways of being.
I am committed to improving and developing my practice personally and professionally and undertake a number of Continuing Professional Development courses each year.
